Common Questions

What does a typical session look like?

A body first approach is used at the beginning of each session. This means “checking in” with the body at the start of the session with a short guided body scan. You are able to tune in to what your body needs and what messages it might be holding. This also helps to focus the time with your therapist, getting the most out of each session as possible. Sessions end with a containment exercise, which allows you to leave feeling better, not worse, than when you walked in.

Various approaches are combined, depending on your individual needs. You and your therapist collaborate and find a comfortable, productive method of therapy. It is common to find relief from the first session. Remember, you are not alone, but working with a well-trained therapist who is invested in your progress and finds joy in helping you effectively create change.

  • Is Gena Callihan, LPC in network? If not, what would be my out of pocket cost?

  • Do I have a copay? If so, how much is it?

  • Do I have a deductible? How will this affect my out of pocket cost?

  • Do I need a prior authorization? If so, how do I get the authorization? Am I limited to a number of visits per year?
